I am a registered nurse with a military background, extensive experience in leadership, driving results, directing administrative and operational matters in a variety of health care settings.
After high school, I joined the United States Army. I enlisted during the gulf war and was a part of an Airborne Attack Helicopter Unit. The Army helped me to learn hard and fast, little did I know, I thrive in that environment.
After more than two years as an Aviation Operations Specialist, I changed careers and became an Army Nurse. I served for an additional 7 years and left the Army in 2004 and have been serving the government in different capacities ever since, from research nurse to quality improvement, marketing, recruitment, operations, and even program and project management in the health care setting.
My core competencies include quality assurance; credentialing; strategic planning; clinical instruction; government contracting; policy creation; health information management; and human and resources management.
I believe that the health care processes, such as access to affordable high-quality health care, patient participation in decision-making, and treatment plans for patients can be better in this country, and I am dedicated to this endeavor, wherever the path may lead.
