Bio

Donna Fountain, Ph.D. joins Chamberlain College of Nursing, New Brunswick as an Associate Professor in September 2018. She has nursing practice and education in adult primary and community health. Dr. Fountain is passionate about educating and mentoring students towards achieving their professional nursing careers. Dr. Fountain holds a doctorate from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Areas of research include examining the psychosocial factors that impact nurses working in hospitals.

Dr. Fountain most recently served as an Associate Professor in the undergraduate and graduate degree programs at the Long Island University Harriet Rothkopf Heilbrunn School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY. Previously, she served as an Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator of the Kean University School of Nursing and Middlesex County Community College RN-BSN Off-site Articulation Program; and serves as an adjunct professor at Kean University in Union NJ, and as an independent nurse educator.

Prior to teaching, Fountain has served in leadership positions in non-profit and for-profit Certified Home Health Agencies, Licensed Home Health Agencies, and Long-Term Care Agencies. Also, she served as a national site visitor for the National League of Nursing’s Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).

is a former board member of a federally qualified health center in N.J. In addition, she serves on many professional nursing organizations, such as the American Academy of Nursing; American Nurses Credentialing Center; Golden Key Internal Honor Society of Rutgers-Newark; Present-Elect 2018 Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Alpha Tau Chapter, Rutgers University; Co-Chair of the American Nurses Association Professional Issues Panel End RN Abuse; New Jersey Nurses Association; and Organization of Nurse Leaders of NJ.
