Bio

Rose E. Constantino, Ph.D., JD, RN, FAAN (Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing), FACFE (Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners), is Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, Department of Health and Community Systems, a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, and a Visiting Scientist to Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines. She teaches Forensic Nursing based on a book she co-edited “Forensic Nursing: Evidence-based Principles and Practice published by F. A. Davis in 2013.  Her pro bono Family Law practice representing clients in court who are seeking protection from abuse (PFA) is founded on her research on the consequences of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) on the health, safety, and well-being of women, men, and children worldwide. Her current research is in assessing the HEARTS (Health, Experience of Abuse, Resilience, Treatment, and Safety) of older persons in the Pittsburgh area funded by the University of Pittsburgh David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership; the same study is being done in Manila, Philippines, Jordan, Turkey, Japan, and Taiwan. Her related work is in evaluating the effectiveness of Online and Mobile delivery of health interventions to survivors of IPV as a disruptive innovation (HELPP Zone app) in building healthy relationships. She is also a Co-Investigator on a study on the “Understanding the Effects of Intimate Partner Violence in Traumatic Brain Injury” funded by COBI, Pittsburgh, PA. She has recently completed (2016-2018) as Mentor in the Sigma Gerontological Nursing Leadership Academy.
