I've been a nurse for 40+ years, longer than I have done anything else! Today, I am an Associate Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing and the Co-Lead of the Utah Action Coalition. My teaching, advocacy, and mentoring passions include change leadership, appreciative inquiry, emotional intelligence, health policy, advancing nursing workforce policy change, and population health. Before joining the University, I worked in various health system, community, and public health settings well into the last century.
I am deeply committed to helping healthcare professionals discover and share their advocacy through pen, voice, and action - if you want to know how to write an OpEd or Letter to the Editor, I'm all in to help you! In my spare time, along with my lifelong partner Brian, I love to hang out with our four grandchildren, hike, ride bikes, and generally cause a bit of good trouble.
