Rebecca Smith is an acute care Advanced Practice Nurse with more than 10 years experience providing critical care in suburban and city communities. Rebecca holds current certifications as a CCNS, CCRN and is licensed to practice as an APN with prescriptive privileges. She has an additional 30 years of nursing experience working with interprofessional teams both in institutions and in local communities. Rebecca Smith attended Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania and graduated in 2006 with an MSN in the CNS track for critical care nursing. She completed the "3 Ps" in addition to coursework and clinical hours necessary to practice within the APRN Consensus Model. Her BSN was achieved in 1998 at Stockton University with a focus on community nursing and a member of STTI. Rebecca Smith maintains current memberships in ANA, NJSNA, AACN, SCCM, and NCS.
Rebecca's recent achievements include completion of MAT DEA waiver training, ENLS certification for neuroscience, and organizing a Medical Needs Shelter for Atlantic County residents displaced during Tropical Storm Irene and Hurricane Sandy in collaboration with local OEM officials. She has completed bioethics and epidemiology courses towards DNP at WILMU in New Castle Delaware.
Ongoing projects include publishing a paper in OJIN and focusing on population health with an emphasis on safety and prevention measures in the community. Rebecca Smith resides in the Pinelands of Atlantic County New Jersey.
