Bio

I have 15 years teaching in academia in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. As an experienced nurse scientist/researcher, I developed the role of Nurse Researcher at RWJUH Somerset campus, Somerville, N.J. My areas of expertise are evidence based practice and research, both qualitative and quantitative.  My former program of research focused on women's health issues in vulnerable populations, primarily depression and postpartum depression in Latina and African American women.  Currently, I have focused on incivility among nursing faculty in academia.  However I have conducted research on many other topics as well numerous evidence based practice studies co-authored with direct care RNs.  I have presented extensively, both via podium and poster, at professional nursing conferences locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. I currently mentor doctoral students in the development of their phenomenon of interest from inception of idea, development of the research proposal, data collection, data analysis, and presentation of their completed research got their proposal and final defense. My current research is titled he  Faces of Incivility: The Lived Experience of Faculty to Faculty Bullying in Nursing Academia and The Impact of Incivility on the Nursing Shortage that was funded by the George Hebert Legacy Award Grant from the N.J. Collaborating Center for Nursing, Rutger's University.  I also am an experienced author.
