I have spent most of my career as a nurse educator and nursing education administrator. I recently retired from the position of Dean at the University of Utah College of Nursing. Prior to that, I held positions of Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Assistant Dean for Master's Programs at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. I am a certified acute care nurse practitioner and practiced until I assumed the dean position in 2013. I currently serve as the editor of the Journal of Professional Nursing, the official publication of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. I offer workshops and webinars to teach nurses how to publish. I serve as an onsite evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and provide consultation for schools preparing for an accreditation site visit. I also serve as a consultant to help schools with curricula for all level programs.
