Bio

Dr. Patricia Quigley is a Rehabilitation Clinical Nurse Specialist, Adult Health Nurse Practitioner,  Nurse Scientist and Consultant. Her contributions to patient safety, nursing, and rehabilitation are evident at a national and international level, with emphasis on clinical practice innovations designed to promote elders’ independence and safety. For over 45 years, Dr. Quigley has practiced in the field of rehabilitation nursing. She serves as a consultant to healthcare systems, health care improvement organizations, and innovation companies  as a patient safety expert for fall and injury reduction to advance patient safety programs,  scientific inquiry and contributions,  and reengineer integration of innovation at the point of care. She is a nurse expert in redesign of  fall and fall injury prevention,  program evaluation,  strategic planning, program implementation, innovations in technology, and population-based approaches;  evidence-based practice;  rehabilitation outcomes for adult populations;  patient safety advances across settings of care; and staff development and innovation diffusion.    Currently, Dr. Quigley is a member of the NQF Prevention and Population Health Committee.  She is and has been an influential member and leader of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses for over 40 years, along with other nursing organizations.   Dr. Quigley is renowned for her leadership as a speaker, scholar,  researcher, author,  educator  and  mentor, establishing  community, state, regional and national partnerships to shape research agenda, policy, and health  outcomes.
