Laura J. Walker is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) with over 20 years of clinical practice experience. Her areas of expertise include invasive cardiology, emergency room nursing and occupational safety. She holds national certification in nursing education, critical care nursing and as a professional development specialist.
Laura attained a Masters in Nursing Science with a specialization in nursing education from Moravian College and was the recipient of the Master of Science Student Academic Award for Excellence in Nursing Education, Leadership and Professional Service. She is a member of the National League of Nursing, the American Nursing Association and the National Nursing Professional Development Association.
Laura serves as the Clinical Safety Programs Manager for Lehigh Valley Health Network in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In her manager role, Laura functions as a clinical expert, facilitator and champion of safety and scientific inquiry to enhance both patient and employee health and workplace safety. Laura provides oversight of policies, programs and initiatives to reduce injuries and adverse events from impacting colleagues, patients, and the environment of care. Her contribution to the nursing science includes several successful scholastic publications with emphasis on clinician workplace safety.
To connect with the future of the nursing profession, Laura also serves as faculty for an associate degree nursing program for Lehigh Carbon Community College. In this role, Laura develops and manages program needs for both classroom and online academic platforms. She also serves as a clinical professor by facilitating and managing clinical experiences for all nursing student levels. In 2019, Laura was the recipient of the adjunct faculty of the year award.
