Bio

Julie Huron is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and has worked in long-term care for the past six years and in health care for the past seventeen years.  She received her undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration from Ohio University as well as a certificate in Gerontology.  She has experience with Hospice volunteer management and nursing home compliance.  Julie has also managed the business office and insurance/collections for Travel MD, a Physician-Nurse Practitioner practice, with patients at home, assisted-living and skilled nursing home facilities.  Huron has great success identifying West Virginia insurance hurdles and the many levels of proper credentialing.       

Julie started her career in health care as a Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator and Huntington, WV area Mom’s Group Coordinator.  She has attended births throughout West Virginia in hospitals, birth centers and in homes and she has a vast network of peers throughout West Virginia and Ohio. 

Huron resides in Huntington, WV and has a son, Phoenix, attending Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.   Julie looks forward to growing the membership of the West Virginia Nurses Association and all opportunities to increase visibility and opportunities for the nurses of West Virginia.
